I Remember!

Here I sit and ponder, about the world in change,
how the daily news sound uncertain and strange,
I think 'Oh my goodness' the world's going crazy
how so many people are just selfish and lazy!

I look at my poppy that I wear with pride,
for all the soldiers who have served and died,
who left behind loved ones and went afar,
to fight for freedom, for a life with no war!

For the people who gave their lives for our Land,
today, on guard for Thee I will stand!
At 11:11 on the 11th of November,
I will never forget and always remember!

One more time?

He told me he wears his heart on his sleeve,
I told him that my heart had been broken again.
He called me beautiful and meant it,
I called him, because I was lonely.
He made me laugh even so I didn't want to,
I made the decision to let go of the pain.
He send me flowers without a reason,
I send out that letter that I've been holding on to.
He held my hand when I was weak,
I held onto the moment and let go of the past.
He promised everything will be all-right,
I promised me to put myself first.
he asked me to be his future,
I asked myself should I risk one more time
He kissed me and
                I kissed him back!

Bird Eye View

Bird Eye View!

by Ilona Rosenthal-Payne

I just sat here dreaming,
on my window with a tea,
when I saw something gleaming,
on the branch before me!

I focused my eyes,
on the branch with the game,
that to my surprise,
was beautiful & tame!

I scrolled on my screen,
with the care of a hunter,
I blinked at the scene,
for a second or under!

Then I lifted my view,
back to the trees in the winds,
no feathers in blue,
that carry its wings?

The moral of the story,
the lesson of the dream:
if you get a glimpse of glory,
even small it might seem!

Keep your mind on above,
because in the blink of an eye,
can the moments you love,
have passed you by!

Every Day

by Ilona Rosenthal Payne, 2012

Live every day like it would be your last,
leave yesterday's trouble be in the past.
Keep your eyes focused on the road that's ahead,
don't ever give up but keep walking instead.

Love every day unconditionally and true,
because what you give out always comes back to you.
Never put your head to rest when you're mad,
but ask for forgiveness before going to bed.

Hope every day that you get one more chance,
to talk to your mother while holding her hand.
Help out your Vater without a delay,
because the one that giveth can taketh away!

And when your time comes I hope you can say:
I'd live my life the very same way.
I'd count the blessings each and every day,
not the once I received but the ones I gave away.
